My first complete short story collection is coming soon!

9/11 Trilogy by Gary J Byrnes
I'm gathering together the short stories that I've written over the past ten years and plan to release them as a collection early in 2013.

Provisionally titled The Writer and Other Stories, the collection will comprise 20 stories with settings as diverse as ancient Rome and interstellar space in the distant future. I'm looking at putting the stories in chronological order by setting, not by when I wrote them, and see if a thread can unify them on an epic scale.

We'll see how it all turns out. I'll keep you posted!

Meanwhile, you can read some of the stories that will feature in the collection in my 9/11 Trilogy  and Ireland Trilogy, both available for free download from all good online bookstores.

Pure Mad
Hello world! I'd like to draw your attention to a Fundit campaign by my friend, the oh-so-talented Carol Keogh, who's raising money to record and launch her debut album, Mongrel City, along with her band, The City Fathers. This is an opportunity to pre-buy the album and thereby help to make it happen. Take a look at the campaign, at http://www.fundit.ie/project/mongrel-city-debut-album-by-carol-keogh

To help this worthy campaign, I am offering a free ebook download of my acclaimed Irish crime thriller PURE MAD - THE AUTHOR'S CUT (a journey into the dark heart of Limerick with mental gangs, all kinds of drugs, big guns, edgy sex, evil witchcraft and Russian literature) from Smashwords if you promise to go look at the Fundit page. Just go to https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/53171and use coupon code MC49J!

Peasants No More

Adding poison fluoride, a waste product from the Dutch fertiliser industry, to Irish drinking water costs the Department of Health anything from €4-10 million per year. This is mass medication of the Irish population and we are the only country in Europe to allow this. Fluoridated water could also be killing us and keeping us stupid, as the form of hydrofluorisilic acid used also contains arsenic, cadmium, mercury, nickel and lead.  With the dreaded Budget approaching on December 5 next, the Minister for Health, Dr James Reilly, must be made aware that we don't want, nor can we afford, fluoridated water: toothpaste is cheaper and better. Please email Dr Reilly at minister's_office@health.irlgov.ie and let him know what you think.

As is stated on the World Health Organisation website: “Benefits of water fluoridation are over-stated. Tooth brushing with toothpaste and diets low in sugar are the true oral health solutions. There is no need to fluoridate the water supply”. It's time the Irish population educated themselves on water fluoridation and stopped accepting the continuance of the the failed policies of the past. We are peasants no more.
